1. About this policy

Vanbus LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides Hard Count, an iOS football decision game. This policy explains how information is handled when you play, use account and social features, receive notifications, or contact us. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to vanbusllc@gmail.com.

Hard Count includes local gameplay and online features. Information stored only on your device is distinguished below from information sent to our services.

2. Information we collect

  • Account and profile information. When you choose Sign in with Apple, we receive an authentication identifier and credentials needed to establish your session. The app requests your name, uses your given name as an initial display name when Apple provides it, and does not request Apple's email permission. Your profile includes your display name, a generated friend code, and selected pro and college teams.
  • Gameplay information. The app saves scenarios played, results, scores, win-probability comparisons, play choices, action timing, and replay logs. When you sign in, completed runs are uploaded and associated with your account to synchronize history, compare results, and calculate standings.
  • Friends and social information. We store friend connections created using friend codes and the information needed to show friends' results and head-to-head comparisons.
  • Notifications. If you enable notifications, we receive an Apple push-notification device token, the notification environment, and your league and friend-alert preferences. Notification records may include the scenario, users, and scores involved in a friend-score alert.
  • Local settings. Your device stores preferences such as team selections, app colors, sound and notification settings, cached content, and gameplay history. Authentication credentials are stored in the device's Keychain. Selected teams and notification preferences are also sent to the service when you use the associated online features.
  • Network and support information. Requests to online services expose connection information such as your IP address to the receiving service. When you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. Please do not send passwords, authentication tokens, or unnecessary personal information.

3. How we use information

We use information to authenticate users; save and synchronize profiles and gameplay; provide football scenarios, scores, replays, standings, and friend comparisons; deliver notifications you enable; respond to requests; and maintain the security and operation of the service. Gameplay logs support replay and checking the integrity of results.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you request, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service where those interests are not overridden by your rights, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where required. Notification permission and agreement to these documents do not replace any parental consent required by law.

4. When information is shared

  • Service providers. Hard Count uses Supabase for account authentication and backend data storage, and Apple for Sign in with Apple and push delivery. Providers process the information needed for those functions. See Supabase's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Friends and standings. Your friends can see your display name, game-result summaries, scores, and comparison information through the social features. Fanbase standings show aggregate results. Choose a display name that does not disclose private information and share your friend code only with people you intend to connect with.
  • Sharing you initiate. If you use the app's sharing controls, the information you choose to share is sent to the destination you select and becomes subject to that destination's practices.
  • Legal and business circumstances. Information may be disclosed when required by law, to address fraud or security threats, to protect legal rights, or as part of a merger or transfer of the business, subject to applicable protections.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep account, profile, friendship, and synchronized gameplay information while needed to provide your account, history, and social features. Notification information is used to register devices and deliver the alerts you enable. We retain support correspondence as needed to resolve your request and meet related legal obligations. Information is retained only for the relevant purpose or a specific legal, security, or dispute-resolution need.

Delete your account in the app: open Profile, choose Delete account, and confirm Delete permanently. Deletion is permanent. It removes your account and associated profile, synchronized game history, friendships, device registrations, personal standings records, and friend-alert records. Counted runs are removed from fanbase standings totals.

After a successful server response, the app clears the saved session, local game history and pending uploads, account caches, and notification preferences on that device. Local team and color preferences remain available without an account. If deletion fails, the app displays an error so you can retry; if local cleanup fails after server deletion, it reports that separately. Signing out or uninstalling the app alone does not delete your server-side account.

Sign in with Apple: deleting your Hard Count account is separate from disconnecting it from your Apple account. Follow the post-deletion instructions to stop using Sign in with Apple for Hard Count in your Apple account settings. See Apple's instructions.

For access, correction, deletion assistance, or questions about retained information, email vanbusllc@gmail.com with “Hard Count privacy request” in the subject. We may verify your identity or parental authority before acting. Limited records may be retained where required by law or necessary for a specific legal or security purpose. Backup copies, if any, may remain until removed through the provider's backup lifecycle and are not part of the active account.

6. Your choices and privacy rights

You can edit your display name, change team selections, remove friends, and sign out using the app's account and profile controls. Notification preferences can be changed in the app and in iOS Settings. Disabling notifications stops their display on that device; it does not delete an account or all previously stored notification records.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a privacy-request decision. Contact us using the address above. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. You may also contact your local data-protection authority. We will handle requests within the time and subject to the exceptions provided by applicable law.

7. Children and parents

Hard Count is intended to include players under 13 as well as older players. Account identifiers, display names, friend connections, gameplay records, and notification tokens described in this policy may be personal information when associated with a child.

Children should use Hard Count with a parent or guardian's permission and supervision. Where applicable law requires parental consent to collect, use, or disclose a child's personal information, that consent must be obtained before the relevant processing.

A parent or guardian may request review or deletion of their child's information, or refuse further collection or use, by emailing vanbusllc@gmail.com with “Hard Count child privacy” in the subject. Identify the relevant account without sending passwords or authentication tokens. We will take reasonable steps to verify parental authority before providing access or acting on the request. Account deletion is also available through Profile → Delete account → Delete permanently.

If you believe a child's information has been collected without legally required consent, contact us so we can investigate, stop unauthorized processing, and arrange deletion as appropriate. A child's participation must not be conditioned on providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary for the activity.

8. Security and international processing

Hard Count uses authenticated requests, device Keychain storage for sessions, and backend access controls to limit access to account information. No method of transmission or storage can guarantee complete security.

Information may be processed by us and our providers in countries outside your place of residence, where laws may differ. International transfers are subject to applicable data-protection requirements. Contact us for information about the processing locations and safeguards relevant to your information.

9. Updates and contact

We may update this policy as Hard Count changes. We will update the date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. A change to this policy does not itself authorize a new use of children's information.
